Why is 'I am' important?
Consider these examples.
|
Ten year old Arun has devised an interesting little
game to make all his classmates clean up their neighbourhoods.
45 year old Lakshmi wants to build a collection of
her autistic child's sketches.
Mrs Ganapthy is a 50 year old school principal who
wants to train her students as aware citizens.

Different people, different dreams, different
ideas. But they all speak of an untapped pool of ideas,
of energy, and talent. Most importantly, they speak of an
untapped will to make a difference. 'I Am'is about discovering
the hidden Aruns and Lakshmis, the achievers, dreamers and doers
of our country, who can all make a difference in small and big
ways and channelising their talents and contributions in different
fields so they can assertively and proudly say 'I'm a Smart Parent',
'I'm an inventor', I am a Progressive School' and so on and win
badges that say 'I am an Inventor', 'I am an Artist' etc.

Hoopla Club and 'I am'
Hoopla Club as a platform for the young
has always been about tapping into the best of young expressions.
Launched in 2007 as a platform for the young in the form
of a monthly all colour magazine and interactive events,
today Hoopla Club has a membership of about 15,000
student members across different schools in Bangalore,
and is a well established platform for children, that combines
learning with fun. One highlight of Hoopla Club are the
Hoopla Cub Reporters, children who write for the magazine,
and who get an exclusive identity in the form of a badge.
Hoopla Club activities in the areas of Civic Awareness,
(fire fighting, disaster management, Sensitization (care
for elderly, animal care etc), Educative Visits, etc have
triggered very good response from children, schools and
parents.
Today Hoopla Club is taking its vision one step further
by involving everyone -- right from the child himself to
the parent and the school through the 'I am' concept that
culminates in the 'I am' Awards
By joining hands with The New Indian Express and through
'I Am' Hoopla Club hopes to create a generation of smart
children, parents and educators.
